Home for the Holidays

Home for the Holidays
Oh, hi! Well, it’s Christmas time and I’m back in Atlanta for it!

Jack is still in Santa Cruz, with his family and will be working his little butt off at The Holiday Boutique this weekend and all next week. So, if you’re a last-minute shopper and you’re in the Santa Cruz / Bay Area go check it out!

Posts may get a little thin while I’m here, and for a bit once I’m back to the West Coast on the 30th. But here’s wishing you and yours festive holidays!

Yay for More Holiday Boutiques!

A Santa Cruz Christmas Holiday Boutique
This past week has gone by SO FAST! Barely had time to post on Wednesday and no time at all yesterday! It’s been pretty crazy, but I’m glad to be getting out of the house more.

One of the reasons for us being away from the web yesterday was we signed on to do another awesome local holiday gift sale! A Santa Cruz Christmas Holiday Boutique has turned their glorious house, that seconds as an Open Studio, into a beautiful place for vendors to display!

What’s different than the gift sale we were involved with last week is that this holiday boutique is running until the 23rd, with many artist and some vendors being added every weekend.

It starts today at 310 Riverside Ave. Santa Cruz (super close to the Boardwalk) and times are:

  • Dec 9 – 11, 10am – 5pm
  • Dec 16 – 18, 10am – 5pm
  • Dec 19 – 23, 11am – 4pm

I leave for Atlanta next week, but Jack will be there for both of the other weekends. Come by and check it out, It’s gonna be a blast!

Handmade Gift Sale

Handmade Gift Sale
Fun news: we are going to be a part of a fantastic gift sale, put on by the Art Factory and Blue Heron. Tons of gifts, including our prints, all for under $25! It’s gonna be great!

It’s all going down December 3 at 1543 Pacific Ave in Downtown Santa Cruz. Do some holiday shopping and support local, independent artists!

Monday, Once Again

MoMA
As predicted, this was a wonderful weekend! Highlights:
- Braved the weather on Saturday and checked out some of the holiday markets.
- Took a little train ride out to Greenwich Connecticut and saw our first snow of the season.
- Diana’s party was great, though we probably stayed out a little longer than we should have.
- Brunch at La Bonne Soupe.
- Saw the Tim Burton, Bauhaus & Monet “Water Lilies” exhibits at MoMA.
- Tasted terrific beers at Brooklyn Brewery.
- Dinner at Brooklyn Bowl.
- Swung by Rockefeller Center to check out the tree.

Back to Bayhead

Back at Bayhead
An extremely lovely weekend was had, as Jack and I revisited last year’s Valentine’s/President’s Day weekend trip! One of our top missions, of the trip, was to carve our names into our booth at, what has now become our restaurant there, The Ark. Mission was accomplished! We also did a bit of antique shopping, beach walking, beer drinking, picture taking and just laying around.

Festive Lil’ Me

We leave for holiday fun today! I’m so frickin’ excited! I think there might still be some blogging before Christmas and the New Year, seeing as I will have my computer with me. But, just in case, I leave you with yet another (awesome!) video and wishing you a happy first day of winter, Hanukkah, Christmas and New Years (or whatever else I might be forgetting)!

P.S. And for more (and some geeky) festive fun check out A Very Special Scifi Holiday Collection presented by Io9! Featuring, MST3K, X-Files, Batman, Futurama and much more!

Ornamentation

Ornamentation
I am totally doing this for my upcoming holiday parties. Buy a flashy (and preferably cheap) ornament and tie it up a pretty ribbon. It’s just so simple! Thanks you Kingdom of Style for the inspiration!
