Randomness

The Hulk and Kung Fu Panda
Just a post about a bunch of things, at once. Thursday we saw Hellboy 2 (Jack enjoyed it, but I thought it was okay) and I wore my fabulous new thrift shoes (which I got while on our Santa Cruz trip, for $5). The rest of the weekend was spent further painting, cleaning and general spritzing up of our new place (YAY for fresh flowers!). We made book cases out of the drawers and slats from my old IKEA bed (hmmm, they don’t seem to be selling it anymore). It’s so much fun putting this place together! It’s, finally, really starting to come together… housewarming party coming soon!

A Trip to Williamsburg

A Trip to Williamsburg
Yesterday was “Shutdown Day” and it went wonderfully. The only reason I touched my computer was to turn it off. We took this day and made a trip out to Williamsburg, Brooklyn, did some thrift shopping and, when we go back into Manhattan, caught a movie.

Wants: Fashion

1. Big, high-waisted belts
2. Lace up, tan, tall boots (like these, from Etsy)
3. Lots of fun colorful tights (like these, from We Love Color)
4. Simple yellow sun dress (I wish i could remember where I found this!)
5. Cropped black vest (like this, from Blaec)
6. Cute shorts (like these, from Fred Flare)

Jack and I are in the middle of a no-spending spree, inspired by A Cup Jo. Money is only spent on food (which in this city can get very very expensive itself), toiletries and bills. I’m usually pretty good at being able to talk myself out of buying things and in some ways this makes it easier for me. But I’ve also been feeling a desire to go thrifting or raid Etsy (damn that place has some great deals). So, while I’m saving, I’m putting together lists of things I want and think of it as kind of window shopping. ;)
