Thanks to my dad for the link. I think it’s kind of a cute idea, but I can’t help but roll my eyes… just a little.
Two-year-olds in New Zealand are getting down to business. Toddlers can now follow up after important playground meetings by exchanging business cards. The specially made cards have age-appropriate art such as diaper pins. The cards have become a bit of a fad — with moms acting as liaisons to the swing-set network.

If you’re not familiar with Rockabye Baby, they cover well-known rock bands in lullaby versions. It’s quite an interesting twist. They currently have 23 albums released (plus Pixies album on the way), with everything from AC/DC to Coldplay to Bob Marley to Tool. I only have Radiohead and it’s great. (I might need to pick up Bjork soon!)
Rockabye Baby! transforms timeless rock songs into beautiful instrumental lullabies. The delicate sounds of the glockenspiel, vibraphone, and other instruments will lull your little one into a sweet slumber.
These versions of Radiohead are sophisticated enough for people of all ages, but sweet enough to introduce your child to rock’s smartest band. Their album Kid A imagines the scope and power of music created by a newborn child. What will your baby dream about while drifting off to these serene interpretations of Radiohead’s best-loved songs?
I am aware this is quite a random thing to pick, but I’m a Radiohead nut… It’s a great album to work to, I can drift off day-dreaming, or I can sing along.

Jack, my sweet, this is for you, and your favorite karaoke song!
During his 1969 concert at San Quentin prison, Johnny Cash proposed a paradigm shift in the field of developmental psychology. He used ‘A Boy Named Sue’ to present two hypotheses:
1. A child with an awful name might grow up to be a relatively normal adult.
2. The parent who inflicted the name does not deserve to be executed.
…
‘Names only have a significant influence when that is the only thing you know about the person,” said Dr. Ford, a developmental psychologist at George Mason University. “Add a picture, and the impact of the name recedes. Add information about personality, motivation and ability, and the impact of the name shrinks to minimal significance.’
