Honestly, Midtown has always seemed really gross to me, and I’m really not shocked that the country’s dirtiest hotel, Hotel Carter, is located in the heart of Midtown.
The dump hasn’t changed much since the ’80s when it was a homeless shelter, as the Daily News’s Richard Shapiro learned after a security guard explained that a steady stream of water pouring from the lobby’s mirrored ceiling was “a minor problem — that’s all.”
