F--- the MTA
My dad sent me this article yesterday about how annoying and rude some people can be on the subway. He singles out “Suits” as being the bane of his existence, on the train. I myself, haven’t experienced too many of these people, thankfully, seeing as I don’t work in the financial district or live where these pricks would. For the most part, my interaction with most people on the train is fine. People usually keep to themselves. I do have my peeves such as people playing their music too loud and pushy moms with strollers.

Largely, I feel a bonding with these people because we all have to deal with the same thing: the MTA. We all have to put up with its infrequent service; congested platforms and train cars, due to that infrequent service; the most unfriendly, unhelpful employees I have ever encountered (I swear, they must give them attitude training); and some of the nastiest, dirtiest, most fowl smelling places in the city. Additionally, they are not, ever, ready to anticipate problems. If it rains, we can all expect service delays. How? It’s not as if rain is an uncommon occurrence, they should be ready to deal with a little bit of water falling from the sky.

What’s worse, is they got their fare increase and then turned around and said none of it would be used towards improvement of service. I took that Rider Report Card survey, I did not give my line anything above a D (except for the number of MetroCard vending machines). I’m starting to feel like that was just along the same line as the button they have at crosswalks: it’s for your benefit, just to make you feel better, but in the end they don’t do a-whole-hell-of a lot.

*Deep breath* Ok, I’ve got that out of system… for now.
