Sounds of Silver was, hands-down, my favorite album of 2007 (which is saying something considering In Rainbows came out the same year); so, needless to say I was extremely excited to hear about a follow up: This is Happening!
Due to leaks DFA has put the album, in its entirety, up. And while it’s no Sounds of Silver (not that it should be), This is Happening is a great album and still full of that wit and passion that I love from Mr. Murphy. “Dance Yrself Clean” is epically good! AND he added another NYC show! Excitement!
Man, so far, 2010 has been an amazing year of music (Vampire Weekend, Gorillaz, Beach House, Broken Social Scene, Caribou)… Have a fan-taboulous weekend!
SOS was my 2007 favorite, but the beast that is TIH is an absolute masterpiece and I think it bests everything JM+Co (oh, that is funny, accidentally) have ever done. This thing will live on all year long and beyond. Wowza, it’s amazing.
