Yesterday was very nice! Rei and I walked all over Central Park and watched all the kids enjoy their day off. Later I met up with Diana, Ranise and Ben for a screening of “How to Make it in America.” The show looks pretty good, but it’s hard to tell from one 30-minute episode… For more pictures from the day (sadly, not a lot since my battery ran out), check out my Flickr Pool!
In other news: I’m so excited about tomorrow!! More on that later!
I’ve been watching Big Love for a few years now; I really love the show. This season they changed their intro and I’m quite impressed. Music, entitled “Home,” by The Engineers. Does anyone know who designed this?
Phew, long day yesterday, but I’m excited to be back in town! Hope your holidays were a good one! I’ll go into details about the trip later…
Been re-watching Firefly, man what an amazing show! I know I’m a little late on this boat. I avoided it for a while due to my distaste for Buffy and Westerns in general, but boy was I wrong. Amazingly witty, so well written and acted, with interesting, relatable characters (even the zanier ones). Almost makes me want to go back and give Buffy a second try! Here’s to a show that ended way too early! Enjoy the video! ;)
With the conclusion to the very short Season 6, The L Word reached its end. Now, I have been a huge fan of the show ever since Nia and Morgan came back from the video rental store with the first season.
I honestly felt like they just got tired of writing, so they stopped. If there hadn’t been that (terrible!) slow-mo, wind machine walk that ran over the credits, then I wouldn’t have even thought that that could have been the end! Aside from not getting us any closer to who killed Jenny than we were at the beginning of the season (I think Jenny did it to herself, if you ask me), so many things were left completely up in the air. What will Max do with the baby? How come we didn’t even get to see the birth? Might Bette and Tina take the baby? Jenny’s iPhone is in the house, possibly plugged into the TV, still. I wanted to see Joyce and Phyllis’s wedding. What about the found Lez Girls reels? Le sigh…
Maybe Alice’s spin-off show will help with the unanswered…?
So, it turns out that one of the funniest shows evar, Mystery Science Theater 3000, celebrated their 20th birthday on November 24! I think I’ll have a small marathon tonight; my own personal commemoration of an exceptional show! I’m so drooling over the 20th Anniversary Edition DVD, but so it is, with me and expensive things…
‘Mystery Science Theater’ was a primer on exceptional writing. It proved in a profound manner that you don’t ever have to pander or dumb a joke down to make people laugh. Smart humor is good humor and even if half the room is scratching their heads at a Frida Kahlo joke, the other half of the room is thinking it’s the greatest thing ever because, seriously, it’s a Frida Kahlo joke! Who the hell makes Frida Kahlo jokes? Everyone who’s ever gotten an MST joke that rendered the rest of the room silent knows what a great feeling it is, like you just earned your PhD in cultural awesomeness.

P.S. You can view my top 5 episodes list here. So good!
Finally caught the first episode for Project Runway’s fifth season and this dress, by Kenley, was, hands-down, my favorite. The color, the pattern, the cut, the silhouette, perfect! I would buy and wear this today! I can’t believe it didn’t win. For shame, judges, for shame!
Last night was Jack and my date night! Nothing crazy fancy, just burritos and a movie. I won’t say much about it, aside from that we very much enjoyed it and Jack cried at the Louis Vuitton gift scene, hehe.
Once upon a time a California boy met a Georgia girl in New York. They didn't get along, at first. But, little by little, they fell in love. Today they are happy and still very much in love, running a business and a blog together.
