My Favorites: Bjork

Favorite Bjork Songs
Even though I was less than thrilled with her last album, nothing gets me quite as excited as talk of newness from Bjork. So, I’ve picked out my favorite track from each of her albums!

“Ég get ekki hjálpað elska þessi maður” from Gling-Gló – 1990
No, not exactly part of her “official” discography, but I’m so in love with this album; because what better than jazz? Jazz with a sprinkle of Bjork!

“Human Behavior” from Debut – 1993
A great song and the first collaboration between herself and Michel Gondry!

“Hyper-Ballad” from Post – 1995
This is really where things get hard. Post, Homogenic and Verspertine are some of my favorites, of all time, chock-full of incredible tracks! It was a close call between this and “It’s Oh So Quiet”…

“All is Full of Love” from Homogenic – 1997
The visuals of Chris Cunningham along with this version (which was available on the single) make my heart swell.

“Cvalda” from Selmasongs – 2000
“I’ve Seen it All” is a great track, but this one’s just so much more peppy… and I need that when I think about Dancer in the Dark.

“Hidden Place” from Vespertine – 2001
The atmosphere from this album is stunning; personal and isolated, yet as expansive as a tundra.

“Triumph of a Heart” from Medula – 2004
I just want to jump around when I hear this!

“Innocence” from Volta – 2007
Sadly, this and “Earth Intruders” were the really the only tracks from this album I could get into. The rest just seemed… messy.

BONUS!
“So Broken” from the Japanese import of Homogenic – 1997
Elegant in its simplicity.
