The Oldest Living Things, Rachel Sussman
I know this has been making the rounds fairly heavily, recently, but it’s a fascinating series! Rachel Sussman is searching for and photographing, you guessed it, the oldest living things in the world. Above is: Clonal Mojave Yucca (12,000 + years old; Mojave Desert, CA), Siberian Actinobacteria (400,000 years old; Neils Bohr Institute, Copenhagen) & La llareta (up to 3,000 years old, Atacama Desert, Chile).

I love that she has a well documented map, so one can perhaps find some of these for themselves (even to Antarctica!). You can also read about it in her blog.

Neat Links From My Father
My dad likes to email me cool things he finds on the nets… but, me saving them, fill up inbox so much. So in an effort to keep things clean and archive the interesting stuff Dad finds I’m making a little series. Thanks Dad and keep ‘em comin’ (some of these might look very very old to you)!
