The Green Locker

The Green Locker
So here’s a little update on that fabulous school locker we found. Jack’s pretty much finished painting the outside (we’re thinking white or off-white for the inside). I so adore this green color!

Re-appropriating

Re-appropriating IKEA
A few weeks ago Jack bought a few power tools, etc. and we have been putting them to excellent use in our apartment! We are declaring the theme of our place “Re-appropriated IKEA.” We started with drawers and slats of my old bed and made cute mini bookcases. But, last week, in an effort to open up or space a bit more, the impulse struck to take apart my big bookcase, use the remainders of the slats to make wall-mounted shelves. We are having so much fun taking things apart and making them our own and I could not be happier with the results!

IKEA Wants

Oh, the things I want from IKEA! These are the things we spotted on our last trip and didn’t pick up that I still really want. We shall see, though, since I imposed the savings spree again. *Le sigh*

Lazy Sunday Morning

musical survey
Did a little music survey about a year ago and I thought it would be fun to do it again, now, and compare. iTune did change how they organize things so last year’s results may seem a little odd in comparison. (Yea, there’s an audiobook listed amongst the music, oh well.)

We haven’t even come close to really getting into my little-more-than-minor obsession with music; hopefully, we shall delve into that more later.

New cardboard table

Just got back from a wonderfully long weekend (more on that later). I scrapped that other table I was working on. It was getting clunky, ugly and I just couldn’t gather up the motivation to fix how it was leaning oddly to the side. I very happy with this new idea. It’s so easy to put together, it looks pretty cool, and it uses all these empty boxes we’ve have just sitting around.

Origami Castle Addition

This is perfect for large open spaces (such as lofts) that can be configured in multiple ways. This flexible wall provides privacy but still lets the sunlight in.

Been building our own furniture for our apartment out of these boxes. It’s been great fun!
