This morning I shipped out our first order of Obama Calendars! I’m so proud of how it all turned out!

P.S. Since Jack is out of town, the Etsy shop will also be on vacation for a little… shall be back up very soon.

Holy crap! While poking around NOTCOT, I found this article about cool 2009 Etsy calendars. And, guess what!? Our 09 Obama Calendar was featured!! We’re in there with some very nicely designed pieces and I am so flattered! Many thanks to The Words in My Mouth!

It took me a week after the election, but finally I finished my 09 Obama Calendars! I love how they turned out (and hopefully many others do too)!

SoftSpoken’s and Urban Outfitters
Agreed, that’s pretty lame.
keep it real. buy handmade. buy ethically. buy original. buy indie. buy softspoken. buy etsy. (mine are more affordable anyway)

Last night I added my Destination watercolors to our shop as ACEO card prints! I still plan on doing more, since Jon and I have a lot of cities we want to see, but, as-of-now, it’s Florence, Tokyo, Cancun and Nice!

Even though I got a little sick this weekend, it was a very very nice one. I woke up Saturday and went through old sketches I had scanned in high school and college for any untapped ideas and thought I should get back in the habit of having a sketchbook/journal again. So, I picked up a ruled Van Gogh Moleskine at a nearby stationary store. Also, while out, this book caught my eye, and I couldn’t put it back on the shelf (which is so bizarre, cuz business and job books usually turn me off so thoroughly)!

What also made this weekend great was early Sunday morning, while we were asleep, we made our first sales! Holy cow! We have a series of ACEO cards (the cardinal, owl, peacock and cardinal) up in the shop, made from the watercolor birds I did a little while back. Here’s to many more sales in the future!

Oooo! I’m so excited! Now I can show you what I’ve been up to for a month and why I’ve been neglecting the blog so much. Late, last night Jack and I finally opened our Etsy shop! Check it out at Orignauxmoose.etsy.com!
Jack has put up two great vintage prints and I posted my 3-part “Mark Makes Me Merry” mini-series (mentioned here). I’ll be posted more from the whole first, 15-part series, today. So, go on… *nudges*

I’m still on a fashion high from Marc Jacobs’ show last week. So I’m working on fashion illustration / digital collages inspired by the collection. Think of it as fashion fan art. I’m considering doing a few more and selling some prints… how easy is an etsy shop to get started? More latas!

1. Big, high-waisted belts
2. Lace up, tan, tall boots (like these, from Etsy)
3. Lots of fun colorful tights (like these, from We Love Color)
4. Simple yellow sun dress (I wish i could remember where I found this!)
5. Cropped black vest (like this, from Blaec)
6. Cute shorts (like these, from Fred Flare)
Jack and I are in the middle of a no-spending spree, inspired by A Cup Jo. Money is only spent on food (which in this city can get very very expensive itself), toiletries and bills. I’m usually pretty good at being able to talk myself out of buying things and in some ways this makes it easier for me. But I’ve also been feeling a desire to go thrifting or raid Etsy (damn that place has some great deals). So, while I’m saving, I’m putting together lists of things I want and think of it as kind of window shopping.
Next up “Wants: For the Home”
