I, personally, could not handle that bed, but kudos to her for making it work!

Vista Del BBQ, Living Room

Each of our apartments have had a sort of theme to them. Our first we created as much as we could out of cardboard. Our second place seemed to be furnished almost entirely from Ikea. This go-round the theme is Craigslist! After our move and road trip we didn’t have any furniture so we started hitting up the free/curb-alert and garage sale sections. I think we’ve spent around $60 furnishing our entire apartment!
The above picture is probably our second favorite find: our giant orange velvet sectional. We were grabbing some coffee, glanced over CL and saw this; the owners had moved and it was sitting out front their home. We dashed to the car and quickly picked it up. It was the biggest pain to move and it needs some repair work, but it has so much personality!

The wall collection with the our new moose head!

This mini bar was a great cheap find! The pictures are a little dark, but we’re using the wine glass area as a bookcase, the wine rack as kitchen utensil storage and the bottom cabinets for misc.

And, last but not least, what we lovingly refer to as “Lee Alton’s Thinking Chair.” (Slightly better pictures here and here.) This is absolutely our favorite find and we got it completely free! An architect (who we named the chair after) up in Carslbad was cleaning out his basement and was just giving tons of great stuff away. We later found out it was an vintage Plycraft! Plycraft was a furniture company, that during the 1960s began creating chairs heavily inspired by Eames’s designs, but have become popular, in their own right, today.
So that’s the living area (or most the pieces in it)! Our place isn’t big, but I’ve got a few more things to show you!

Right Before the Warmth

And, yet another weekend has come to a close. The weather is really neat right now; where you can feel Spring forcing its way in, but only in the sunlight. Winter still claims the shade and wind.

10 Great Things About Working From Home

And for the weekend I leave you with a list, recently posted on Apartment Therapy. This is something I hope to be doing in the very near future.
1. Taking a Bath at Lunchtime
2. Raiding the Fridge whenever I want
3. Being able to hit up Trader Joes or Target in the middle of the day
4. Working in Pajamas (which I did today for the first time, until I had to go to the dentist)
5. Not commuting anywhere, especially in the rain
6. Making lunch at home (and being able to put a roast in the oven in time to eat before 10pm)
7. Making a mid day Yoga class
8. Getting to be alone for the day in semi stillness (and not coming home ragged and exhausted)
9. Getting to play whatever music I want
10. Janel inspired this one: Getting to hang out with my kitty.

Jack & Jules
Once upon a time a California boy met a Georgia girl in New York. They didn't get along, at first. But, little by little, they fell in love. Today, they are happily living in Santa Cruz, CA and still very much in love, running an Etsy print shop and a branding & design business together.
