The Last L Word

The Last L Word
With the conclusion to the very short Season 6, The L Word reached its end. Now, I have been a huge fan of the show ever since Nia and Morgan came back from the video rental store with the first season.

I honestly felt like they just got tired of writing, so they stopped. If there hadn’t been that (terrible!) slow-mo, wind machine walk that ran over the credits, then I wouldn’t have even thought that that could have been the end! Aside from not getting us any closer to who killed Jenny than we were at the beginning of the season (I think Jenny did it to herself, if you ask me), so many things were left completely up in the air. What will Max do with the baby? How come we didn’t even get to see the birth? Might Bette and Tina take the baby? Jenny’s iPhone is in the house, possibly plugged into the TV, still. I wanted to see Joyce and Phyllis’s wedding. What about the found Lez Girls reels? Le sigh…

Maybe Alice’s spin-off show will help with the unanswered…?

True Facts from Tudor England

True Facts from Tudor England
Since we all know how I love The Tudors, of course this fun mini site, created by Hornet Inc, made me quite happy! Even if you’re not very interested in the show or the time period, the animation alone makes it all a treat!

Life for a commoner in 16th century England was violent, dirty, smelly, and overall quite dangerous. Even popular recreational activities came with the threat of death and dismemberment. Life was good for King Henry VIII, however, as he had an army of servants attending to his every need.

“True Facts from Tudor England” is a series of viral spots promoting the second season of the Showtime series “The Tudors”. The Showtime web team created an interactive Tudor village based on Mixtape Club’s designs to showcase the animations. Each story is based on a real fact provided by the historical consultant for the series.

Yay for Showtime!

The Tudors and The L Word
We don’t even own a TV, which is, for the most part, a-okay with me. I have a terrible tendency to zone out when a television is around. Especially in a city like this, who needs to be shut up in their apartment watching “Flava of Love” marathons? A lot of the time the shows I would even be interested in watching are on cable and the premium channels and I just couldn’t bring myself to pay for all those channels I would never watch. Anyway, despite all that the internet does allow me to get sucked into a few shows.

We just finished up the first season of The Tudors a few days ago, and even though Jack seems to be over it, I’m hooked! I’m very excited for the new season to start. Henry VIII’s story has always fascinated me and I’m enjoying this interpretation. Usually Anne is shown as a manipulator and temptress (as seen in The Other Bolyen Girl), but I think this shows that she, too, loved Henry.

The L Word is like an old friend that I’m always so happy to sit down and get the news with. My college roommate introduced me to the show about 3 years ago and I’ve been watching ever since. I know it can be so so over the top and just cheesy sometimes, but I adore the characters! Alice and Tasha (pictured above) are currently my favorite couple, bu t I’m eager for Bette and Tina to get back together!

OOO, and Dexter, let’s not forget good ol’ Dexter! I hope they’re working on season 3!

*Edit* Showtime has the first episode for season 2 available here! Already watched it and I want more! (They also have episodes for Dexter and L Word, for those of you who haven’t checked them out before.)
