Well.. let’s see, it’s been a while, huh? Due to a trip to, the now infamous, Brooklyn IKEA, I have re-enacted the “Saving Spree” on myself again. This really really sucks, cuz there’s still a whole lot I want to get (but, that’s another post). What we did walk away with were little things: towels, small pillows, pots, net curtains, and frames; the last of which I was very excited to get because I’ve really wanted to get cracking on this wall for a week or two now. So, here it is! Most of it anyways. I’ve still got a few more I want to get up there, but I’m very happy with how it turned out!

This article seems extremely useful. I’m looking forward to applying it!

A number of years ago a friend gave us a great tip that to this day has made picture hanging a simple, pleasurable task. The tip was to always hang your art at 57″ on center. “On center” means that the middle of the picture is at 57″ (obviously, the hook will be higher).

Interestingly, the 57″ standard represents the average human eye-height and is regularly used as a standard in many galleries and museums…

New cardboard table

Just got back from a wonderfully long weekend (more on that later). I scrapped that other table I was working on. It was getting clunky, ugly and I just couldn’t gather up the motivation to fix how it was leaning oddly to the side. I very happy with this new idea. It’s so easy to put together, it looks pretty cool, and it uses all these empty boxes we’ve have just sitting around.
